Why Building a 6-Figure Product Suite Isn't That Hard

In this episode of The Dreamer’s Lounge Podcast, I’m excited to share with you why building a six-figure product suite isn’t that hard. This isn’t to say that making six figures isn’t an accomplishment or doesn’t require work. But sometimes we over glamorize it and make it way more complicated than it needs to be. I want to share with you the lessons I’ve learned as I’ve grown beyond six figures. No matter where you are in your business, I think this episode will be helpful for you.

Think outside of money.

Begin by understanding what your goals are outside of money. I have three questions I want you to answer: 

  1. What do you want to be known for?
  2. How do you want your clients to experience your brand and business?
  3. How do you like to work with clients? 

It’s okay if you don’t know the answers to these questions right away; you can experiment. But you can use them as guides for yourself. No one wants to say they built a thriving business based on the things they don’t enjoy or value, right? If you begin knowing who you are and what you stand for and build your business from there, the money will come AND you’ll feel really good about it.  

Start with your signature offer.

Earning the most is not the same thing as offering the most. Making six figures does not mean you have to have a ton of offers. I’ve seen businesses thrive based on just one offer. So I encourage you to start with whatever your signature offer is and build from there. Focus on the thing you are insanely good at first, and then you can expand as you grow. If you have too many offers, it dilutes the quality of your services. People go to people with specialties for a reason. Focus on being the go-to in your specific industry.

Don’t take on everything that comes your way.

I get that at the beginning of your business journey, it’s harder to be particular with your clients. But as you get closer to making six figures, you are going to want to focus on what you feel super aligned with. If you’re not vibing with something, it’s okay to turn it down. You need to save that energy for a better opportunity. Remember that every time you say yes to something, you’re saying no to something else.

 
 

 

Let go and hire people.

As you’re growing closer to six figures, the amount of work you have and the number of people you’ll be supporting will likely increase. You want to make sure that you’re not sacrificing the quality of your work to take on more people. It’s not fair to your clients to be over-extended. So let go of your ego, and hire people. I get that it can be hard to trust people at first (it was for me), but once you see the hours they work and what they’re doing for you, you’ll see that those are times you don’t have to work, and you’ll feel so much relief! The best way to serve your clients is to let go a bit and let other people join your team.

Surround yourself with people who stretch you.

You know that saying, you’re the average of the five people you spend the most time with? Well, it’s really fucking true. And it’s just as true in the digital world as it is face-to-face. Being part of a mastermind has been HUGE for me. I intentionally surrounded myself with people who stretch me, and now my vision is so much bigger. That’s what I want for you too. What spaces can you put yourself in so that you can grow beyond what you thought was possible for yourself? Always be the small fish in the big pond.

Trust your intuition.

Don’t let the goal or focus of making six figures lead you away from your intuition. If you’re trying to make a decision and something inside of you is communicating a gut feeling, listen to that. Before I made the decision to leap into my course designing business, I was really scared to let go of business coaching. I thought that I might lose income if I put my eggs in one basket, I worried about what people would think, I worried that I’d fail, all the things. But then I thought to myself, “No, bitch. If you put all your eggs in one basket, that basket is going to be profitable as fuck.” My intuition was telling me what to do, and I couldn’t deny that anymore. I’ve always ended up being successful when I’ve listened to my intuition. So as you get closer to making six figures, trust your intuition too. That’s your guide.

I know it’s easy to start to compare yourself to what others are doing in business and get really overwhelmed. But my biggest advice to you is DON’T overcomplicate it! Your intuition is a powerful thing. Listen to yourself. You know what to do!
