INTENTIONAL innovation is so important for business, but it’s critical to go about it in the right way.

What is innovation?

Innovation is creating a new idea, device, or method, but it’s not creating it just for the sake of having something new. Innovation means having intent behind change. Innovation is important for you as an entrepreneur because it positions you as an expert, a thought leader, and a trendsetter. To intentionally innovate, you need to think about contributing to the future instead of consuming what’s already in existence. All of your offers need to be created with intentionality, innovation, and individuality. With that in mind, I’m going to share five ways you can make your next offer innovative!

How branding can set you and your offer apart.

All of your branding starts with YOU, and infusing more you into your offers is what’s going to make them stand apart. An example of branding could be with your course name. Don’t pick something boring! For my brand, I try to pick creative names that go with a witty and magical theme. Think about the culture you’re trying to create because that’s what your brand does. What is different and unique about the space you want to build?

If you think you’d like to start a course on a certain topic, but you stop yourself because you think someone else has probably done it before, the truth is that someone probably has done it before. But... they haven’t done it in the way YOU can. You can bring your unique voice and perspective to any topic, and that starts in the way you brand it.

Throw all expectations around structure out the window.

I want you to think about everything you know about the way offers “should be” structured and throw it out the nearest window. You do NOT have to structure an offer in a certain way just because that’s how it’s usually done! When you’re building a structure for your programs, think about what you and your clients need, not what you’ve seen done in the past. 

Focus on creating a transformative experience for your clients. Once you identify where you want them to end up, think of the best way to get them there. That’s what will create the best structure for your programs.



Always be looking from the perspective of client experience.

Look at your product suite through the lens of client experience. Think about how people will experience your brand and your offers. While it takes some practice, get good at anticipating what your clients need ahead of time. When you know people will run into an issue somewhere, create the solution for them. When they feel supported throughout their entire experience in your container, they will definitely want to talk about it. People love to share their good experiences (and their bad ones!). So if you focus your energy on providing them the best experience possible, it will definitely benefit you too! Unfortunately, a great client experience isn’t really the norm in this industry. We can all do better. It starts with making sure every single person who is a part of your community is embraced.

Accessibility is key.

Making your offers accessible goes such a long way. One thing to think about is financial accessibility. You can help provide this without having to slash prices. I’ve seen some people do “pay-what-you-can” models. Some make use of their highest prices to pay for the offer for someone who can’t afford it. It’s really brilliant. It’s also important to think about different learning styles and abilities. Now, I caption all of my videos to give the most accessibility possible for my audience. I want to provide everyone an opportunity to learn from me. Making this extra effort can really go far for you.

Create solutions to problems.

If you ever find a need that no one else has solved before, don’t shy away from it! I’ve seen so many people have a great idea to solve a problem, but they don’t do anything about it. The truth is that there’s a reason why you have that passion and interest. You have the potential to help a lot of people. Just because it doesn’t exist yet doesn’t mean there isn’t a need. Maybe you’re just the first person to discover it.
