Innovative Offer Panel Featuring: Taylor Slango, Tatiana O'Hara, Tara Counterman & Katie Ferro

Mar 01, 2021

In this special episode of The Dreamer’s Lounge Podcast, I’m joined by a panel of four amazing female entrepreneurs! Taylor Slango is basically a launching wizard and helps clients build a business that gives freedom, profit, and fulfillment. Tatiana O’Hara is an agency and team operations coach and basically makes team structure look easy! Tara Counterman is a podcasting genius who helps businesses build more than just brand awareness through a holistic podcast approach (and her team runs my podcast, no big deal!). And Katie Ferro is a business coach for bookkeepers who is truly a JOY to work with. All of these ladies are freaking awesome, and I’m so pumped to have them on to share their perspectives on creating innovative offers.

But before we dive right in, welcome! You’ve now entered into The Dreamer’s Lounge! I’m Ariel Schiffer, and I have made it my mission to take out the digital trash one bad course at a time. I am the creator of The Course Alchemist, Industrial Organizational Psychologist, and Curriculum and course design expert.

This podcast is for entrepreneurs who are looking to elevate their digital product suite so their offers speak for themselves. Nothing is worse than being oversold into something that under delivers just like an overpriced bottle of wine. So, if you’re ready to develop high quality offers, bring in consistent revenue, and have a business with long-term results for you AND your clients, grab your drink and join us inside…

Today, this panel of amazing female entrepreneurs and I are diving into innovative offer creation. For all the details, be sure to listen to the ENTIRE episode on your favorite streaming platform!

Standing out in your industry.

I asked the panel about how each of them have stood out in their industries by offering something that other people are missing.

Tara realized that so many people were investing in business coaching but not applying that to their podcast and other social platforms. She couldn’t understand why people weren’t putting them together. She decided her focus would be on helping business owners leverage their podcast to make sales and not just have it be something else on their to-do list.

Tatiana saw a gap in that there were a lot of people teaching businesses about how to make more money but no one was teaching them what to do once they had the money. She wanted to teach people the strategy behind hiring so that businesses can actually scale (which is not the same thing as just doing more).

Taylor saw the same cookie cutter launching strategy in the online world, and she knew there had to be a more creative way to go about it. She wanted to build a program with easily implementable steps but that still left room for entrepreneurs to infuse their own values and ideas into.

Katie saw that most accountants were used to trying to get all the answers right rather than being bold enough to ask questions. She wanted to help people remove the shame of not knowing everything. Instead, she encourages clients to be really good at the one thing they do best.

Issues in the online space.

I asked the panel what issues they see in the online world when it comes to product development.

Tatiana said she always heard people say you should have low price offers and build up from there. But she always felt like that wasn’t going to work for her. She felt like she was stringing people along. She wanted to go ahead and offer people the best transformation she could, and that was at a higher dollar offer. But that worked for her. She says product suites don’t all have to look the same way.

Katie also agrees with the top down approach. If you know that’s what your clients need, give it to them. There’s no reason to have people work with you just to work with you. They’re after the transformation. Figure out the best way to give it to them, and do that.

Taylor says that she sees a lot of entrepreneurs create offers for themselves and not the people they are seeking to help. DON’T create your offer for you because you want to make money. It needs to come out of a place of service. If it’s a high quality offer that truly helps people, it WILL sell.

Tara struggled with a lot “shoulds” in her business in the past. She felt like she should have courses, and masterminds, and group programs. But she eventually realized that there are no shoulds in business. When she walked away from that and stepped into her true zone of genius, that’s when her business took off. You have to do what’s best for you and not just be a copy of what everyone else is doing.

Letting go in your business.

I asked the panel if they’ve had to let go of certain things in their business for something better.

Katie thought the only way to make money passively was to create a course on bookkeeping. But she eventually realized that she could make money passively by building her agency and hiring people for her team. That’s what her business actually needed.

Taylor had a membership recently that she thought was going to be amazing, but she ended up shutting it down. She realized that just because she could serve people in that way didn’t mean she had the desire to.

Tara talked about the importance of keeping up your reputation. The online space is small, and you can either use that to your advantage, or it will destroy you. You need to let go of wanting to get more clients and focus on the ones you actually have.

Tatiana said to be the person that other people will be so surprised and excited that you exist. That’s how most people find all of us! When you see a need that’s being missed and you have the ability to meet it, lean into that!
