Imposter syndrome with high achieving course creators.

If you outsource your course, a lot of the time you start to feel imposter syndrome because as entrepreneurs we’re not used to accountability. We’re also not used to anyone looking over our courses and giving feedback.

Keep in mind, we are NOT supposed to do everything alone in entrepreneurship. We need to see other views besides our own standards and what we've set for ourselves.

There are no set rules in the coaching and consulting industry that says what you should include in your course, how much it should be priced, and what it should look like. Because of this, when somebody has something bad to say, it creates MASSIVE insecurity.

And what does insecurity create? Imposter Syndrome.

There is never a finish line when it comes to learning and growing so don't let your insecurities get the best of you. Take them as a compliment and do better than you did yesterday.

Knowing what your role is as a course creator.

If you feel uncomfortable about a certain piece of content or maybe you feel like you're not the best person to be giving out this information, LEAVE IT OUT.

You do not need to teach your clients every single thing. Just because they might need something doesn't mean it should be you giving it to them. Stick to what you know! It's okay for you not to be the “everything” to everyone.

Stay where you're able to best serve people and focus on your zone of genius.

Topsie says we shouldn't create instances in our business where it's easy for imposter syndrome to show up. You create the opportunities inside your business so you should feel secure about all your choices.

Whatever you do, don’t let your emotions take over your business because that's where you'll start to fall into imposter syndrome. Think about what you NEED to do in your business and most importantly, think about why.

In order for you to have balance and confidence, you need to stay in your expertise.

Dealing with negative feedback.

Topsie’s advice for processing negative feedback is to look at where the criticism is coming from. Who is the person? Did they even take the course? Because most of the time it's the people who have done the least that have the most to say.

If someone is coming to you with negative feedback, it's just based on their projections and them wanting to have their own problems solved.

You can't manage everyone's feelings and you most definitely won't make everyone happy. Remember that!

Regulating our emotions is super necessary when it comes to dealing with negative feedback. Mindset is not easy but it's your choice to change it. You need to have your own methods and emotional intelligence skills because people's comments can really influence and destabilize us.
